EQUIPMENT RENTALS AND ACTIVITIES

Here is the basic information you need to know about renting equipment at Wintergreen. There are two places locally to obtain equipment: at the lift area or the Ski Barn at the foot of the mountain in the Rockfish Valley side (151 and 664 intersection).

They have multiple locations so just scroll down to the Wintergreen site. Rates are listed there. If you reserve skis online over 48 hours in advance, there is another 10% discount.

You might want to call both places to not only check out rates, but also perhaps to reserve equipment in advance. The slopes at Wintergreen are generally much easier than those out in Colorado or Utah, but will be good for learning. Weekends tend to be more crowded than weekdays. Fourteen of the trails are lighted for night skiing also.

Another great thing for kids to do is the snow tubing park-they will have a blast. Ice skating is also a new addition this year.In the condo we provide a 3-ring binder with all sorts of useful information about area attractions, restaurants, entertainment, etc. There are multiple places to eat in Nellysford and at the turn up to the mountain, where there is a microbrewery and pub restaurant located next to the Ski Barn, a very convenient situation for those arriving from the Charlottesville side of the Blue Ridge.
